Drew Woods – Director Drew founded 8 Point Building Inspections in 2019 after stepping away from Jim’s Building Inspections. Drew has a Certificate IV in Building & Construction and is also a qualified pest & timber pest, asbestos & mould inspector. He started out in the building inspection industry at Jim’s Building Inspections, taking part in their extensive training and successfully managing the Keysborough region for them for 4 years. During his time at Jim’s, Drew was recognised for his work & client relationships by being awarded the VIC/TAS Inspector of the year and the VIC/TAS Team Culture awards in 2018.

Prior to building inspections Drew started his work life as a trade qualified Electrician and over the years has gained hands on experience in the building industry both in Australia and abroad. He has also spent time working in the off-shore oil & gas industry.

brooke woods - operations

Drew is supported in the business by his wife Brooke, who is the first point of call for all enquiries, inspection scheduling and general administration. Brooke is a self confessed fitness fanatic and her superb organisation skills come from years working within human resources, event management and as a personal trainer.

Outside of the business Drew & Brooke are lovers of the great outdoors & home improvements! If their spare time if they are not working on the house, you can find them on the water, surfing, diving or fishing and in the mountains hiking, biking or snowboarding. Holidays are spent camping with the kids (and the dog where possible) at places such as Wilsons Prom, Shoreham, Harcourt and Gippsland If it is active, fun and outdoors they will be there!

It took us quite a few goes at auction before we managed to buy a house, so we had Drew do probably half a dozen inspections for us. Each written report was beyond thorough, and Drew never failed to call immediately after the inspection and give us a verbal report. More than once, I stumbled across a property that had an auction within 7 days, and Drew was always able to accommodate a short notice booking without fuss. Now that we can finally stop looking, we are able to use Drew’s report on our home as a bible for what repair and maintenance works we need to do to keep everything in good shape.
